HYDRANT FLUSHING

The Village of Muscoda Street Department will begin flushing hydrants on Tuesday, July 15 through Thursday, July 17.  During the flushing process, you may experience temporary water discoloration or pressure drop.  This is a normal and expected occurrence.  If you notice any discoloration in your water, we recommend turning on the faucet and letting it run for a few minutes until the water is clear.  As always, any questions or concerns related to the hydrant flushing process, please feel free to contact the office at 739.3182.

Water

Muscoda residents and businesses use over 150 million gallons of water each year. Water is vitaWateringl to our community and we are fortunate in Muscoda to have a high-quality water supply. One of our priorities is protecting this natural resource!

There are two deep wells in Muscoda reaching down to the Niagara-Plattville-Trenten aquifers (in the limestone formation). Water pumped from those depths comes out nice and cold; about 52 degrees year 'round. The water is treated and tested regularly to ensure Muscoda residents and businesses continue to receive a safe and plentiful water supply.

Meter Reading & Billing

Similar to reading your electric meter, village and utility crew read your water meter to collect usage data. The readings are entered into our billing software to help produce your monthly billing statement.

In some cases or during certain times of year when we are not able to read your meter, we provide you with an estimated billing statement, based on your normal usage history for that time of year. Any difference between the amount actually used and the estimated amount billed is corrected automatically when the next regular meter reading is obtained.  Ultimately, you pay only for the amount of water actually used.
